This month we are joined by 2019 Corporate Business Woman of the Year, Heidi Walker!
Heidi is the Managing Director and co-owner of Walker Seafoods Australia (WSA) – the largest wild caught tuna company in Australia.
Heidi is originally from Sydney and has a background in corporate sales and management. In 2006 she moved to Mooloolaba with her husband Pavo as Pavo decided to quit his corporate job and become a tuna fisherman. Their business grew from one boat and four staff to five boats, an export factory and fifty staff within a ten year period after relocating to the Sunshine Coast.
A usual week for WSA is exporting to the USA, Japan, Thailand and Spain and supplies high end wholesalers and chefs in Australia including Neil Perry, Josh Niland, Matt Moran and Tetsuya. Heidi is involved in all aspects of the day to day running of WSA with a specific focus on sales, marketing, financials and strategic planning.
