SCBWN Special Christmas Celebration - Champagne Breakfast
LOCATION: The Events Centre, Caloundra
DATE: Tuesday, 7th December 2021
TIME: 6:30am - 9:00am
Join us for a delicious champagne breakfast while celebrating the end of the year with us. We are delighted to have the highly motivational Amanda Gore as our guest speaker who will be lifting the room with her theme of joy that is perfect for this time of year as we wish to have you leaving on a high to kick off the festive season!
MORE ABOUT OUR GUEST SPEAKER
Amanda is CEO of The Joy Project, an author, speaker, Huffington Post columnist and business woman. She is one of 4 Australians inducted into the USA Speaker Hall of Fame. She is a CSP and has won both Educator of the Year and Keynote Speaker of the Year awards from National Speakers Association.
She works with small and large organisations like Google, McDonalds, Wells Fargo, Allstate, MDRT, Re/max, Disney, Hilton, Not For Profits, The Direct Selling and many other associations, hospitals and schools to help them create cultures of joy and engagement and to bring the humanity back into their leadership and organisations.
In this age of unlearning the ways we used to work and live and re-learning new ways to engage and connect with our teams – and live our lives, mental health issues are sky rocketing. Joy increases productivity 31%, sales 37% and reduces burnout 125% and is the antidote to our mental health crisis. There are many aspects of Joy that can be taught that can transform mindsets – and hearts. Creating joyful cultures and actually focusing on joy as a business strategy is smart!
We simply cannot wait to welcome Amanda to the stage at our breakfast this year.
CHRISTMAS PRESENTS SORTED
With such a positive response to last year's Christmas Market, we once again are setting up the SCBWN Christmas Shopping Market! We encourage members to book a stall to sell their Christmas gift ideas and members and guests can get their shopping done while enjoying the morning the festivities and support local businesses.
THE GIVING TREE - BRING A GIFT
Once again we will have our Giving Tree at the Christmas Breakfast and we encourage all guests of the breakfast to bring along a wrapped and labelled Christmas gift (label to show suggested age range of recipient) that will be distributed through Laurel Place to women and children in our region spending the holiday season in crisis shelters.
Last year we were so grateful for the support of our membership which helped us collect enough gifts, approx. 120, to provide each family in crisis with a gift.
Laurel Place is a not-for-profit organisation that works with children and adults who have experienced sexual abuse either recently or in the past. They offer free counselling and support at three office locations - Maroochydore, Gympie and Murgon. They also provide education and information to school students and engage in activities to raise awareness within the community about sexual violence and how it affects individuals, families and society.
Note: personal care items are always appreciated as these women often escape to crisis centres without any of their belongings.
Event bookings close and dietary requirements due Tuesday 30th November.
